I worked in the software industry, taught computer science at San Jose State University, and held visiting appointments at universities in Germany, Switzerland, Vietnam, and Macau. I am the author of the international best seller "Core Java", published by Oracle Press, now in its 13th edition. In my copious spare time I write books, articles, and software for teaching programming languages and computer science concepts.
