Andrew is a senior at UC Berkeley. He's a teaching assistant for Cal's DSA course, with Java as its chosen medium. His thesis focuses on artificially hyperscaling voxels within iPhone LiDAR scans to allow for faster characterization of California forest fuels. Extracurricularly, he works on making intuitive pipelines for visualization of climatologies for the NPS, and does volunteer research for type one diabetes care at Tidepool. Academically, he's broadly interested in compilers and OSs, focusing on research using lean to look at equality saturation, and looking at synergies and discords between schedulers and compiler optimizations.
